Following its successful debut last February, the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Middle East racing series has been officially confirmed for its second season at Dubai Autodrome.

Chief Executive Officer of Union Properties, Ahmed Khouri, presided over the signing ceremony between the Super Trofeo Series Coordinator, Federica Teneggi, and the General Manager of Dubai Autodrome, Faisal Al Sahlawi.

The Middle East series is the latest edition of Lamborghini Super Trofeo championships that started in Europe, Asia and North America. The formula of the one-make series for Lamborghini will be the same as the 2017 edition: three double rounds, two twenty-minute qualifying sessions and two fifty-minute races with rolling starts and mandatory pit stops, all of which will take place in the United Arab Emirates.

Head of Motorsport Lamborghini, Giorgio Sanna, commented, “In February 2017, we launched the Super Trofeo Middle East, the fourth continental series of the Lamborghini one-make series. This was an important addition to the consolidated formats of Europe, Asia and North America, a further step to prove ourselves a reference point in the customer racing field.”

“Following the success achieved last year and thanks to the positive feedback from our teams and drivers, we are pleased to reconfirm our presence in the Middle East and return to the Dubai Autodrome soon,” he added.

The race series will have two rounds at Dubai Autodrome, joining National Race Day Power Weekends on 16-17 February 2018 and 2-3 March 2018. Competition in the series is divided into separate classes, Pro, Pro-Am, Am, and Lamborghini Cup.

“Watching a full grid of Lamborghini Huracáns thundering around the track is quite a spectacle. We are looking forward to bringing back this exciting series,” said Al Sahlawi.

The series will be open only to Huracán Super Trofeos, ensuring that races are determined primarily on driver ability.
